Our family is looking forward to our upcoming trip to Bute and especially Rothesay - the birth place of my Grandfather Hugh Allan. I hope to discover more about my Allan/McCallum roots. Recently I discovered through your website that Peter and Dan McCallum - my Great Uncles, worked Little Grenach Farm. I am thrilled with what I have discovered through scotlandspeople.gove.uk. This is going to be one very special vacation.

Great work in progress - surfed in from Australia after finding that my Grandmother lived at the Convent in Rothesay 1920's and went to school there, after her mum died in Glasgow slums - so now I have another place for my return to the ancestral homelands! See you soon!

hi there just found this site, i spent many summer holidays here in rothesay staying at the hillside hotel up the serpentine. that was a trek going up the steep hill. my gran was born in rothesay catherine mcdonald so im doing a little bit of research. wish me luck. oh those happy days in rothesay bay as my dad used to say.
